In case you happen to be near Santa Cruz, I would like to extend to you my personal invitation.
“Hecate whose name is howled by night at the city cross-roads.”- Virgil, Aeneid 4.609
Time: 8pm.
Location: Start at Tyrell Park, 150 Pilkington Ave, Santa Cruz; processing to Seabright Beach.
What To Bring: Some food to share.
Hekate is an ancient Greek goddess associated with the crossroads, restless ghosts, the new moon and witchcraft.
Join us in making a deipnon (literally “supper”) offering for Hekate and the ghosts in her retinue, with special emphasis on honoring and remembering the Dead.
The deipnon will be followed by a procession to Seabright Beach, where we will have a bonfire, a devotional ritual for Hekate
